Terms and Conditions
The agreement between you and Nate Plumbing when you book a job, and the rules for using this website. Written in plain English on purpose.
Last updated 8 September 2026
Who these terms are between
These terms are between you and Nate Plumbing, a plumbing contractor based at 3830 Front Street #3, San Diego, CA 92103. Where you see "we" or "us" it means Nate Plumbing. Where you see "you" it means the person or business booking the work or using this website.
By booking a job with us, or by using this website, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not book a job.
Booking a service
You can book by phone, through the form on this website, or by speaking to the automated assistant that answers our line. A booking is not confirmed until we have confirmed it back to you with a date and an arrival window.
We will ask for a description of the problem, the address, and a phone number we can reach on the day. Please tell us if access is restricted, if there is a gate code, or if there are dogs on the property.
Estimates and pricing
Any price we give before seeing the job is an estimate based on what you have described. It is not a fixed quote. A fixed price is only given in writing after our plumber has looked at the work.
Where we charge by the hour, time starts when our plumber arrives and ends when the work is finished and the area is cleared. Parts, fixtures and disposal are charged on top and itemised on the invoice.
Emergency and out of hours call outs are charged at a higher rate. We will tell you the rate before we dispatch, not after.
Arrival windows and emergency calls
We book arrival windows rather than exact times, because plumbing jobs do not run to a timetable. If we are going to miss the window we will call you.
For an emergency, an active leak, no water, or a blocked main line, we aim to get someone to you the same day. We cannot guarantee a specific arrival time for emergency work.
Access to your property
Someone aged eighteen or over needs to be at the property for the whole visit, or you need to have arranged access with us in advance.
Please clear the area around the work: under sinks, in front of the water heater, around the clean out. If our plumber has to move stored belongings to reach the work, that time is chargeable, and we cannot take responsibility for items we were asked to move.
If nobody is there when we arrive and we cannot get access, we may charge a call out fee for the visit.
Work we find once we start
Plumbing is often hidden behind a wall or under a slab, and a job can turn out to be bigger than it looked. If we find work that goes beyond what you agreed, we stop and tell you what we have found, what it will cost, and what happens if it is left.
We do not carry out the additional work until you have approved it. Approval by text message or email is fine.
Payment
Payment is due when the work is finished, unless we have agreed something different in writing. On larger jobs we may ask for a deposit towards parts and fixtures before we order them.
We accept cash, cheque, and the major debit and credit cards. Invoices that remain unpaid after thirty days may carry a late fee, which will be shown on the invoice.
Cancelling or rescheduling
You can cancel or move a booking at no charge up to four hours before the start of your arrival window. Inside four hours we may charge a call out fee, because the slot can no longer be offered to anyone else.
If we have already ordered a special order part for your job, that part is charged whether or not the work goes ahead.
Our workmanship guarantee
We guarantee our own labour. If something we installed or repaired fails because of how we did the work, we will come back and put it right at no charge to you.
To make a claim, call us on (380) 233-5098 or email Support@nateplumbing.com with the invoice number and a description of the problem. Please tell us before you have anyone else work on it, because we cannot guarantee work that somebody else has since altered.
Parts and fixtures
Parts, fixtures and appliances carry the manufacturer's own warranty, not ours. Where a manufacturer's warranty applies we will help you make the claim and we will fit the replacement part, though our labour to fit it may be chargeable.
If you supply your own parts or fixtures, we will fit them where it is safe and legal to do so, but we cannot guarantee a part we did not supply.
What the guarantee does not cover
Our guarantee does not cover damage caused by misuse, by freezing, by tree roots, by ground movement, or by anything a third party has done to the work after we left.
It does not cover the general condition of pipework we did not install. Older systems can develop a new fault near a repair simply because of age, and that is a separate job rather than a warranty claim.
Where a repair is a temporary measure to stop a leak until a larger job can be done, we will say so on the invoice, and the guarantee does not apply to it.
Licensing, permits and insurance
We are a licensed and insured plumbing contractor operating in California. Our contractor licence number appears on every written estimate and on every invoice, and we will give it to you on request.
Some work requires a permit and an inspection. Where it does, we will tell you before we start, and the permit fee is charged in addition to the work.
Limits on our responsibility
We are responsible for damage we cause through our own negligence, and we carry insurance for exactly that. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot be limited under California law.
Beyond that, our responsibility for any one job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. We are not responsible for indirect losses, such as loss of income or the cost of alternative accommodation.
We are not responsible for pre-existing faults we did not cause and were not asked to repair, or for damage that follows from a repair you declined.
Phone calls and our automated assistant
Our phone line is answered by an automated voice assistant, which takes the details of your job and books it. You can ask to be put through to a person at any point in the call.
Calls may be recorded and transcribed so that we have an accurate record of what was booked. How we handle that is set out in our Privacy Policy.
Using this website
The content on this site is ours, and it is here to describe our services. Please do not copy it for use on another business's website.
The service descriptions and any prices shown here are for guidance. They are not an offer, and they do not replace a written estimate for your specific job.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of San Diego County.
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest of them still apply.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your job is the one published on this page on the day you booked it. The date at the top of this page tells you when it was last changed.
