Who we are

Nate Plumbing, of 3830 Front Street #3, San Diego, CA 92103, is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us on (380) 233-5098 or at Support@nateplumbing.com.

This policy covers this website, our phone line, and the records we keep about work we have carried out.

What we collect

When you book a job we collect your name, the address where the work is needed, a phone number, an email address if you give one, and a description of the problem.

When you use the form on this website we collect what you type into it, which is usually your name, your contact details and a short description of what you need.

When you pay us we keep a record of the amount, the date and the payment method. Card details are handled by our payment processor and we do not store them.

When you visit this website our host records the usual technical information: the pages requested, the time, and general information about the browser and device.

Phone calls and our automated assistant

Our phone line is answered by an automated voice assistant. It takes the details of your job, answers common questions, and books the visit.

Calls to that line may be recorded and turned into a written transcript. We do this so we have an accurate record of the address, the fault and the appointment, and so we can check what was said if something goes wrong.

The recording and the transcript are handled by the technology provider that runs the assistant for us, under a contract that only allows them to use it to provide that service to us. You can ask to speak to a person at any point in the call, and you can ask us not to keep a recording of your call.

How we use it

To give you an estimate, book the visit, carry out the work and invoice you for it.

To contact you about a job that is booked or a job we have done, including a warranty call back.

To keep the records a contractor has to keep: what was installed where, what permit was pulled, and what was invoiced.

To understand which parts of this website people use, so we can make it more useful.

We do not use your information to send you marketing unless you have asked us to, and you can stop it at any time by replying to any message or calling us.

Cookies and website analytics

This website uses a small number of cookies. Some are needed for the site to work at all. Others tell us anonymously which pages get visited, which helps us decide what to improve.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though some parts of it may be less convenient.

Who we share it with

The technology providers who run this website, our phone assistant, our scheduling and our payments. Each of them is only allowed to use your information to provide that service to us.

Suppliers and manufacturers, where a warranty claim on a part needs your details to be processed.

Authorities, where the law requires it, for example a permit application or an inspection.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross context behavioural advertising.

How long we keep it

Job records and invoices are kept for as long as tax and contractor record keeping rules require, and then deleted.

Call recordings and transcripts are kept for a short period, long enough to confirm a booking and deal with any question about it, and then deleted.

Enquiries that do not turn into a job are deleted once it is clear the work is not going ahead.

Your rights in California

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you and why, and ask for a copy of it.

You can ask us to correct information that is wrong.

You can ask us to delete information, and we will, unless we are required to keep it for tax or contractor record keeping reasons. If that is the case we will tell you which records we have to keep and for how long.

You can ask us not to sell or share your information. We do not do either, so there is nothing to opt out of, but you are entitled to be told that plainly.

We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights. To make a request, call (380) 233-5098 or email Support@nateplumbing.com. We will ask a couple of questions to confirm it is you before we act on it.

Children

This website and our services are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information about children. If you think we have, please contact us and we will delete it.

How we look after it

Access to job records is limited to the people who need it to do the work. Our website and our forms are served over an encrypted connection.

No system is completely secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If something happens that affects your information we will tell you.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the date at the top of it. If the change is significant we will say so on the homepage.
